Resolving disputes

Should you have a complaint and feel that:

  • the Fund made a decision outside of its powers, or
  • you were prejudiced as a result of poor Fund administration, or
  • there was a dispute of fact or the law, or
  • your company has not fulfilled its duty in terms of the rules.

You can send your complaint, in writing, to the Principal Officer, Ms Caron Harris, PO Box 6020, Parow East, 7501; or email fuse@tfg.co.za

You should submit as much information as possible so that the Fund can respond to you, in writing, within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with the response you receive from the Fund, you can then take your complaint to the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).

  1. Send your complaint, in writing, together with your personal details, all important information and supporting documents, to the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, P.O. Box 35655, Menlo Park,0102.
  2. A meeting may be set up with you or a representative of your Fund, if necessary.
  3. The adjudicator will make his/her decision and both you and the Fund have six weeks in which to appeal against this decision.
  4. After six weeks, the decision is binding.
How can I access Fund information?

The Promotion of Access to Information Act, No 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) was enacted on 2 February 2000. The purpose of the legislation is to give effect to the constitutional right of access to information held by any private or public body that is required for the exercise or protection of the requester’s rights.

This document serves as the PAIA Manual of the TFG Retirement Fund which has been submitted to the South African Human Rights Commission. The manual provides a reference as to the records held and the process which needs to be followed to access such records.
